The ShiftRide BOX is a small but smart device that you easily plug into the OBD2 Port of your car, usually located underneath your steering wheel. The BOX tracks driving patterns so only safe and trusted drivers can get behind the wheel. The BOX also calculates how far drivers travel with your car, how much gas is being used, and more.
Starting Jan 2020, Only car owners who are sharing their car on a 24/7 basis are required to have a tracking device in their vehicle.
Here's what it looks like
Here's where to plug it in
The BOX Device gets plugged in right into your car's OBD2 Port, usually located under the steering wheel, near the left side of the break and gas pedals. There might be a cover to access the port. If you're having trouble finding it, search online for your specific car's make and model and where you can find it.
How to plug it in
Plug it into the port and make sure it's firmly connected. Turn on your car and leave it on for a few minutes until you see a green light flashing on the device. Then you can turn off your car and the device should be ready to use. If there's a connectivity problem, we'll be sure to get in touch with you.
